Go to my local salvage yard's website, look at vehicle images, and see what's the newest car there and see how badly it's been fucked for it to end up in the scrapper.
Like this 2013 Elantra.
That doesn't seem so baaa HOLY FUCK!!!!

Your local pick and pull has a website? Mine barely has a meth lab!! I feel cheated.

So much for the engine sliding out the bottom..... usually there's an interior shot but, I don't think I wanna see that.

It's not a pick and pull, they do wholesale only. But since I am a long time customer, they let me walk around and pick my own shit.
Haven't been there awhile, and it looks like they have some 4th gen Camrys, hmmmmm.....

I always wonder how hurt (or dead) the people in these cars were.

looks like it was minding its own business when it was attacked by a large rock.

I like to look at prices for salvaged supercars and imagine buying two with different problems, then piecing them together into one working supercar.
One day I want to work on a project like that. I don't care about having a car with a salvage title if it works properly and cost me a lot less than buying a non-salvage car. Especially if it's a Ferrari, since it will just end up catching fire one day anyways ;)

Not sure what killed this one but... 306,000 miles on a 2009 Corolla? Wow.

Yeah, some of the bad ones on copart give me shivers. I saw a Forester XT that had the right rear bumper corner touching the right front. Someone wrapped that bish around a pole good and must have died for sure.

Bow your heads in prayer. There were no survivors.

I'm just guessing, but I'll say it had a frontal crash head-on with a concrete divider or a bridge's side. Definitely something that didn't deform at all.

There's a guy over on the Vortex who looks for bio-hazard cars, then (sometimes) finds the article in the news that featured it.

Just realized this is the dealer's plate. Bet it was out on a test drive and things got... interesting.

Looks like an American made Elantra based on the vin number.

Made in America, but crumpled like it was made in China.

Company car of a courier or similar.

Just figured out that it was a used car at Rosen Kia in Milwaukee WI.
Must have been an Ex rental car Elantra, that was out on a test drive.

Dat crumple zone

Yeah I ran the VIN and came up with a few expired used car ads.
Someone was not prepared for the awesomeness that is the 2013 Elantra. Or, as seen many times in my business: Dumb salespeople.

Yeah, those Dynacare lab cars do a lot of running around the midwest. They have a fleet of white Focus wagons that I yearn for, if only they were stick. I know, I need help.

Someone drove it way too hard.
